Kapama Buffalo Camp is the most intimate and authentic of the Kapama lodges — a luxury tented glamping camp limited to just 10 treetop tents set on stilts amongst a canopy of indigenous trees along a seasonal riverbed. Buffalo Camp perfectly blends the romance and authenticity of a traditional African tented safari with refined comfort and attentive service.
With only 10 tents, Buffalo Camp delivers a genuinely exclusive and unhurried safari experience, with lantern-lit dinners in the boma, close-up wildlife encounters, and dedicated personal service. The camp's sustainable design uses solar power and eco-sensitive building methods to minimise its impact on the environment.

Luxury Treetop Tents

Each tent is elevated on wooden stilts among the tree canopy, offering complete privacy and an immersive bush atmosphere. The spacious canvas tents feature en-suite bathrooms, hardwood floors, a writing desk, and a private viewing deck facing the dry riverbed.
Sustainability Note: Buffalo Camp is designed with eco-sensitivity at its core. The tented structure minimises permanent impact on the land, and the camp is powered primarily by solar energy.

Morning & Evening Game Drives
Twice-daily Big Five game drives in open 4×4 vehicles across Kapama's 13,500 hectares. Low guest numbers mean more personalised experiences.
Night Drives
Spotlight-lit after-dark game drives — excellent for leopard, hyena, civets, genets, and other nocturnal predators.
Guided Bush Walks
Intimate walking safaris with armed rangers. Ideal for close encounters with the smaller details of the African bush.
HESC Conservation Tour
Visit the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre on the reserve — an unforgettable cheetah and rhino encounter.
Sundowner Drives
