East Africa's Greatest Safari Destination

Tanzania Safaris

Home to the Great Wildebeest Migration, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and some of Africa's finest wildlife experiences. Tanzania — where safari was born.

Why Choose Tanzania for Your Safari?

Tanzania Safaris represent the pinnacle of the East African wildlife experience. Tanzania is home to the Great Wildebeest Migration — the largest animal migration on Earth — and the iconic Serengeti National Park, whose vast golden plains have defined the safari dream for generations of travellers.

Tanzania protects 38% of its land area in national parks, game reserves, and conservation areas — one of the highest proportions in Africa. This extraordinary commitment to wildlife conservation has created a network of diverse destinations from the Ngorongoro Crater's impossible Big Five density to the remote wilderness of Ruaha and the boat safaris of Selous/Nyerere.

Tanzania is also uniquely positioned for the perfect beach and bush combination — end any safari with a few days on Zanzibar's world-class beaches, or combine wildlife with chimpanzee trekking at Mahale on the shores of Lake Tanganyika.

🐣 January – March (Calving Season)

500,000 wildebeest calves born in the southern Serengeti — extraordinary predator activity follows. Ngorongoro and Tarangire are outstanding. Green season rates make this excellent value.

Excellent game viewing with good availability and competitive rates. Migration herds are moving through the western corridor (June) or building in the south (November). Ngorongoro is outstanding year-round.

🌧️ April – May (Green Season)

Long rains season — some lodges close in remote areas. However, outstanding birdwatching, lush scenery, very low rates, and near-empty parks reward those who visit. Southern circuit parks like Ruaha and Selous remain excellent.
