About Mozambique Safaris
Mozambique is one of Africa's most extraordinary and underrated destinations — a country of breathtaking contrasts where wild bush, ancient forests, and Indian Ocean islands combine to create a safari experience unlike anywhere else on the continent.
The country's remarkable conservation comeback is one of Africa's great stories. Gorongosa National Park, devastated by civil war, has been spectacularly restored and now ranks among Africa's finest wildlife destinations. Niassa Special Reserve — one of the continent's largest protected areas — remains almost entirely wild and unknown to mass tourism.
A Mozambique safari can seamlessly combine world-class wildlife with pristine Indian Ocean beaches, coral reef diving, whale shark encounters, and luxury island lodges — making it one of Africa's most complete and diverse holiday destinations.

Bush Meets Ocean
Uniquely in Africa, Mozambique lets you combine a Big Five wildlife safari with world-class Indian Ocean diving, snorkelling, and beaches.
Marine Mega-Fauna
Whale sharks, manta rays, humpback whales, dugong, and dolphins — Mozambique's coast is one of Earth's great marine wildlife destinations.
Conservation Comeback
Gorongosa and Niassa are two of Africa's most compelling conservation stories — from war-ravaged to wildlife-rich in a generation.
Pristine Islands
The Bazaruto and Quirimbas Archipelagos are among the Indian Ocean's last truly pristine island environments.
Crowd-Free Wilderness
Mozambique receives a fraction of the visitors of its neighbours — genuinely uncrowded safari and marine experiences.
Perfect Bush & Beach Combo
No destination in Africa combines inland wildlife and island luxury more naturally than Mozambique.
Best Time to Visit Mozambique
The dry season (April to November) is generally best for wildlife viewing. May to October is peak safari season in Gorongosa and Niassa with excellent game visibility. The coast is superb year-round, but June to October is best for whale watching and humpback whale encounters off the southern coast.
Whale shark season at Tofo and the Bazaruto runs roughly October to March. The wet season (December to March) brings lush green landscapes, newborn wildlife, and excellent birding with migrants present.
