Zinave National Park

A rising African Parks reserve in the Save Valley — lion, elephant, and wild dog returning to a remote Mozambican wilderness.

About Zinave National Park

Zinave National Park is one of Mozambique's most exciting emerging safari destinations. Managed by African Parks since 2015, Zinave is in the midst of an ambitious rewilding programme in the Save River Valley of central-southern Mozambique — one of the most significant conservation projects currently underway in Africa.

Like Gorongosa and Majete, Zinave was devastated by years of civil war and subsequent poaching. African Parks has been systematically restoring wildlife populations — reintroducing elephant, lion, hippo, buffalo, eland, sable antelope, and working to establish a self-sustaining wild dog population. The transformation is already remarkable.

A Zinave safari is an opportunity to witness conservation in action — to visit a reserve at an exciting stage of its recovery and experience Africa's wildest landscapes before the rest of the world discovers them. The Save River, which borders the park, adds a beautiful riparian dimension to the safari experience.
